Conductive ABS Compound: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: What is the resistance value of conductive ABS compound?
A: The resistance value is typically below 10⁸ Ω, adjustable by filler system and loading level.
Q2: Is conductive ABS the same as anti-static ABS?
A: Not exactly. Conductive ABS is a functional composite based on ABS with conductive fillers added; its resistance range generally covers anti-static (static dissipation) through conductive, so selection should be made by specific grade and resistance requirement.
Q3: What is the difference between RenJie C121 and C121H? A: C121 focuses on stable electrical properties — small fluctuations in resistivity and surface resistance across temperature, humidity and frequency changes. C121H focuses on high impact and high rigidity, with better melt fluidity, easier mold filling and a shorter molding cycle.
Q4: What is the heat resistance of conductive ABS and can it be improved?
A: Heat deflection temperature is generally 86 ℃–100 ℃ and can be raised by about 10 ℃ after annealing, meeting the requirements of some high-temperature environments.
Q5: Can conductive ABS be used for medical device housings?
A: Yes. Its stable conductive performance helps reduce the impact of static electricity on equipment and patients — for example, housings of diagnostic devices such as electrocardiographs.
