What Is Natural Antistatic EVA Compound?
RENJIE® LC168A is a natural antistatic EVA compound formulated with EVA resin, a defined amount of permanent antistatic agent, and other additives such as ZnO, ZnSt and BIPB. It is designed for foam molding. Specimens show a surface resistance of 10^7–10^9 Ω/sq after foaming. The main use is slippers and soles: it effectively eliminates the accumulation of natural charge and conducts away static that may build up when the body contacts the ground.
The natural antistatic EVA foam grade is an intrinsic permanent antistatic compound whose main components are ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and a permanent antistatic agent. Traditional antistatic EVA relies on carbon as a conductive filler. The biggest advantage of the natural grade is a natural-colour appearance, or the option to colour it.
RENJIE® LC170A is a customized ESD compound that can be coloured. It has an expansion ratio of 1.25 (125%), hardness of 60–65 Shore C, long-lasting antistatic performance, oil resistance and wear resistance. It is used to produce ESD EVA packaging materials that provide cushioning and protection.
Antistatic EVA Compound Key Characteristics
Colourable — The natural antistatic EVA foam grade delivers lasting antistatic performance and accepts masterbatches for a full range of colours.
Cushioning and shock absorption — Beyond antistatic function, the foam absorbs impact and vibration to protect products during transport, storage and use.
Soft and comfortable — The soft, lightweight texture improves comfort in insoles, sports equipment and similar products.
Chemical resistance — Good tolerance to certain chemicals, with stable performance across different environments.
Easy to process — Cutting, stamping and hot pressing meet a wide range of shapes and sizes.
Antistatic EVA Compound Applications
Electronics and electrical — Used as packaging for electronic products, such as box liners for mobile phones, computers and cameras, where it cushions, prevents slipping and controls static. It also packages electronic components — integrated circuit chips, resistors and capacitors — protecting sensitive parts from static damage.
Precision instruments — Made into trays and packaging boxes for precision instruments. Transport packaging for large instruments such as electron microscopes and mass spectrometers prevents vibration and collision damage and shields the instrument from static. It is also used for pads and table mats around laboratory equipment to create a safer working environment.
Medical — Added to protective clothing, gloves and masks, it reduces static, limits the attraction of harmful substances such as viruses and bacteria, lowers infection risk and prevents static interference with medical equipment. Accessories such as electronic blood pressure cuff assemblies and blood glucose test strip boxes use antistatic EVA so that static-attracted dust does not affect use or measurement accuracy.

Is Natural Antistatic EVA Permanent?
Natural antistatic EVA achieves long-term antistatic performance for three reasons.
From the antistatic agent side — The permanent antistatic agent is itself a polymeric substance with a degree of compatibility with the EVA matrix. After blending it builds a mesh-like conductive channel inside and on the surface of the EVA, conducting and releasing generated static charge through ion conduction, and keeps working throughout the EVA service cycle.
From the material structure side — Natural antistatic EVA is a polymeric crystalline elastomer with an alternating structure of polar and amphiphilic segments, and it is highly compatible with EVA. Once added, it disperses finely through the EVA and does not exude under external influences such as temperature, humidity and wear, so antistatic behaviour persists across the material's service life.
From the practical results side — In real applications, adding high-molecular antistatic agents and other ingredients in appropriate proportions brings surface resistance to a low level and holds it there, effectively preventing static generation and accumulation over the long term.
3. FAQ (ready for FAQPage schema)
Q1: What surface resistance does LC168A reach after foaming? A: 10^7–10^9 Ω/sq, within the static-dissipative range.
Q2: What is LC168A used for? A: It is designed for foam molding, primarily slippers and soles, where it eliminates charge build-up from walking.
Q3: How does it differ from carbon-filled antistatic EVA? A: Traditional antistatic EVA uses carbon as a conductive filler and is typically black. The natural grade is natural-coloured and can be freely coloured.
Q4: What are the LC170A specifications? A: Expansion ratio 1.25 (125%), hardness 60–65 Shore C, colourable, oil and wear resistant, permanently antistatic, for ESD EVA cushioning packaging.
Q5: Does the antistatic effect fade with wiping, abrasion or humidity? A: No. The permanent antistatic agent is compatible and finely dispersed, does not exude, and is unaffected by temperature, humidity or wear.
Q6: Can it be used in medical protective equipment? A: Yes — in protective clothing, gloves and masks it reduces static attraction of viruses and bacteria; confirm compliance against local regulations and industry standards.
