Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polycarbonate (PC), also known as CF Reinforced PC or Carbon Fiber PC Composite, is a high-performance CFRTP PC material that combines exceptional impact resistance with outstanding thermal stability. RENJIE offers customizable solutions, including 1100CF20, 1100CF30, and 1200CF30, to meet precise engineering requirements across aerospace, automotive, and electronics industries.
Introduction to Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polycarbonate (PC)
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polycarbonate (PC) composites are advanced Carbon Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastics (CFRTP) composed of a polycarbonate (PC) matrix and carbon fiber reinforcement. Compared to other carbon fiber composites, CF Reinforced PC stands out for its superior impact resistance and temperature tolerance.
RENJIE provides a versatile range of Carbon Fiber PC Composite materials tailored for specific manufacturing processes:
• 1100CF20: A Carbon Fiber Polycarbonate consisting of 20% carbon fiber and PC resin. It is optimized for injection molding, with optional carbon fiber reinforcement particles ranging from 15% to 30%.
• 1100CF30 & 1200CF30: These two CFRTP PC grades are formulated with different polycarbonate resins, resulting in distinct melting indexes. Specifically, 1200CF30 is highly suitable for extrusion molding applications.
RENJIE can customize Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polycarbonate (PC) to meet exact customer specifications. By adjusting the carbon fiber content, length, orientation, and compounding parameters, we design composites with precisely targeted properties.

Key Characteristics of CF Reinforced PC
Excellent Mechanical Properties
Carbon Fiber PC Composite materials exhibit high strength, high modulus, and outstanding impact resistance. The compounding of carbon fiber with PC significantly enhances tensile strength, flexural strength, and flexural modulus.
• Strength Enhancement: Even a small amount of carbon fiber drastically improves performance. Adding just 2% carbon fiber increases tensile strength by 12% and flexural modulus by 60% compared to pure PC, satisfying high-strength application needs.
• Impact Resistance: Carbon fibers effectively absorb and disperse energy. The notched impact strength reaches its maximum at a moderate carbon fiber content of approximately 6%. Beyond this threshold, impact strength gradually decreases. This balance makes CF Reinforced PC highly resistant to external force damage.
Conductive and Antistatic Properties
While pure PC is an insulator, adding carbon fiber transforms its electrical properties. When the carbon fiber content reaches 10%, the surface resistivity drops to a level suitable for anti-static applications. This is highly valuable in electronics and electrical appliances, effectively preventing damage from static accumulation and discharge.
High Dimensional Stability
CFRTP PC demonstrates excellent dimensional stability and low molding shrinkage. The minimal dimensional changes during molding ensure high precision, reducing assembly issues. This makes it ideal for manufacturing precision parts like optical instruments and electronic equipment casings.
Extreme Temperature Resistance
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polycarbonate (PC) maintains robust performance across a wide operating temperature range of -50°C to 180°C. It retains strength and stiffness in high-temperature environments and avoids brittleness in low-temperature conditions, preserving excellent toughness and impact resistance.
Good Fatigue Resistance
Under long-term alternating stress, CF Reinforced PC withstands multiple stress cycles without fatigue damage. This ensures a longer service life and higher reliability for mechanical structural parts and sports equipment subjected to repeated loads.
Lightweight Construction
Carbon fiber’s density is merely 1/4 that of steel and 1/2 that of aluminum alloy. Consequently, Carbon Fiber PC Composite delivers high strength and stiffness while remaining exceptionally lightweight. This enables significant weight reduction, energy savings, and performance improvements in aerospace, automotive, and high-end sports equipment.

Application Areas of Carbon Fiber PC Composite
• Aerospace Field: Leveraging its lightweight, high-strength, and high-stiffness properties, CFRTP PC is used in aircraft fuselages, wings, and vertical tails to reduce weight and enhance flight performance and carrying capacity.
• Automotive Field: This Carbon Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic is utilized for bodies, hoods, and seats. Its superior strength-to-weight ratio improves fuel economy and driving performance compared to traditional metals.
• Electronic Appliances: CF Reinforced PC is widely applied in electronic casings, special-shaped materials, mobile phone fixtures, and explosion-proof equipment.
• Sports Equipment: The material is ideal for golf clubs, bicycle frames, and skis, where its excellent strength and stiffness improve equipment stability, elasticity, and service life.
