RENJIE® ESD PEEK Compound: Antistatic, Static-Dissipative and EMI Solutions
RENJIE® ESD PEEK compound is based on PEEK resin, compounded with carbon black, metal fibres and antistatic masterbatch. Depending on the filler system, it delivers antistatic protection, static dissipation, conductivity or electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding — a single polymer platform covering the full range of charge-control requirements at high temperature.
The material is a regular black solid with uniform, glossy colour and a hard, smooth surface. Density is 1.4–1.45 g/cm³.
Key Properties of ESD PEEK Compound
ESD PEEK sheet combines antistatic performance with the full property profile of unfilled PEEK:
- Good antistatic properties
- High mechanical strength and rigidity, high hardness
- High temperature resistance
- Chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance
- Wear resistance and good friction behaviour
- High creep resistance and good dimensional stability
- UV resistance
- Resistance to high-energy radiation
- Inherent low flammability, with low smoke production when burning
Features in Detail
Excellent mechanical strength and stiffness
The compound has excellent mechanical strength and stiffness, and exhibits superior mechanical properties in high-strength and high-temperature environments — the combination that makes PEEK the default choice where metals are being replaced.
High-temperature service without failure
ESD PEEK works in high-temperature environments and withstands long-term exposure without failure. It has good oxidation resistance and stability, so properties hold through sustained thermal load rather than degrading gradually.
Outstanding corrosion resistance
ESD PEEK has excellent corrosion resistance and can be used in extreme environments involving acids, alkalis and organic solvents, as well as in hydrolytic (hot, wet) service.
Applications
CA20 series are RENJIE® ESD PEEK compounds widely used in semiconductors, automotive, aviation, fuel pumps and gearboxes.
In these applications the material helps equipment:
- Reduce weight — replacing metal components
- Reduce noise — polymer damping versus metal-on-metal contact
- Extend the service life of wear-resistant parts
- Reduce or avoid the use of lubricants — a direct benefit where contamination or maintenance access is a constraint
Beyond these, the same property set suits wafer handling components, test sockets and carriers, bushings and thrust washers, pump and valve internals, and structural parts exposed to solvents or radiation.
Where ESD PEEK Fits
| Requirement | Why ESD PEEK works |
|---|---|
| Static control in high-temperature tooling | Antistatic performance plus continuous high-temperature capability |
| Metal replacement in moving parts | High strength-to-weight ratio, density 1.4–1.45 g/cm³ |
| Chemical or solvent exposure | Resistance to acids, alkalis and organic solvents |
| Clean, low-maintenance assemblies | Wear resistance and self-lubricating behaviour reduce lubricant use |
| Fire-sensitive environments | Inherent low flammability, low smoke when burning |
| Dimensional precision at temperature | High creep resistance and dimensional stability |
How to Specify an ESD PEEK Grade
Four inputs determine the grade and should be stated at enquiry:
- Charge-control target — antistatic, static-dissipative, conductive or EMI shielding. Each maps to a different filler system and loading.
- Service temperature and duration — continuous versus peak, so the grade is not over- or under-specified.
- Chemical exposure — specific acids, alkalis, solvents or hydrolysis conditions.
- Form and process — sheet, rod or injection-moulded part, plus the machining or moulding route.
